Toxic Justice: The "Reforms" of Progressive Larry Krasner

120 REASONS WHY LARRY KRASNER HAS BEEN AN UNMITIGATED DISASTER AS D.A.

On Jan. 5, 2018, newly elected Philly D.A. Larry Krasner promptly fired the 31 most experienced prosecutors in his office. He replaced those veterans with a whacky mix of social justice warriors, former public defenders, and raw recruits fresh out of law school.

Over the past eight years, under Krasner’s direction, his amateur prosecutors have routinely freed armed and dangerous criminals, who proceeded to rack up more victims. Krasner’s prosecutors have also repeatedly been caught lying to judges, and trampling on the constitutional rights of police officers.

Krasner’s tenure has been marked by historic levels of gun violence, with all-time city records set for annual shootings, murders and carjackings. But it’s not only violent crime that has surged during Krasner’s tenure.

Because Krasner reclassified all retail theft under $500 to be merely a summary offense, the equivalent of a traffic ticket, retail thieves have ransacked stores throughout the city with impunity. As a result, Rite Aid, Wawa, CVS and Macy’s have closed their doors and left town.

As the city's top law enforcement officer, Krasner has been a chronic tax deadbeat and a brazen, repeat violator of the city’s campaign finance laws. He also figured out a new way to rip off taxpayers, by turning convicted killers into millionaires.

Here’s how it works. First, Krasner "exonerates” a convicted killer, not by presenting any evidence in court, but by making a shady backroom deal with his friends in the defense bar. In these backroom deals, the D.A. agrees to undo a jury verdict and drop the murder charges against a defendant, all because of unproven allegations of police and/or prosecutorial misconduct that Krasner doesn’t bother to investigate.

Once freed, the newly exonerated killer files a civil lawsuit against the city, claiming he was wrongly incarcerated. So far, the taxpayers have already shelled out $84.5 million in bogus settlements to 21 convicted killers and one convicted rapist.

Meanwhile, in the courts, whenever they are tested, Krasner’s s0-called exonerations have been repeatedly exposed as fraudulent, and based on lies.

At press conferences, Krasner, who promised to be transparent, is a habitual liar who plays word games and routinely stonewalls. And when that fails, he flees the podium and runs away, as he has done to this reporter more than 40 times.

At the D.A.’s office, Krasner’s an absentee boss. He frequently is out of the office on exotic foreign vacations, bicycling in the Pyrenees in France and Italy, or the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, or along the coastline of Nova Scotia. Or he embarks on cross-country junkets, barnstorming law schools from coast to coast, in search of new recruits who have no idea how to be a prosecutor.

Meanwhile, in his absence, the D.A.’s office has been marked by rampant dysfunction, a sky-high turnover rate, as well as lawlessness.

The only reason Krasner hasn’t been met the fate of other George Soros progressive prosecutors across the country who’ve been defeated at the polls or thrown out of office is because he enjoys the blind allegiance of the progressive Democratic reporters and editors at The Philadelphia Inquirer. The city’s only daily newspaper has routinely abandoned traditional  journalistic ethics to slant the news or outright censor negative news to protect Krasner.

What follows is a mountain of evidence, a brick wall 120 stories high, that documents what a disaster Larry Krasner has been as Philly D.A.
